ABOUT


The Ukrainian Ballet of Odessa is a private company founded in 2006 by Vladimir Troshenko, following an invitation to tour the United States to present Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and Swan Lake. Following this, the company performed in Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, Greece, Russia, Romania, Asia and also in their countries.

Made up of 70 dancers mainly from Odessa, Kiyv, Lviv and Dnipo, the company presents the most “Great Classical Ballets” in its repertoire. From “Carmen to “The Nutcracker, including “Swan Lake”, “Romeo and Juliet, “Sleeping Beauty, “La Bayadère or “Gisèle. On tour, around thirty of these dancers can be found on stage performing the greatest ballet classics.

Upon the death of Vladimir Troshenko (Founder), the management and development of the reputation of the company The Ukrainian Ballet of Odessa was entrusted to Aleksandra Fedorina (Artistic Director)

Aleksandra Fedorina
Aleksandra Fedorina
Aleksandra was born in Odessa in 1966.

In 1981, at the age of 15, after graduating from the Odessa City Ballet School, Aleksandra began her career at the Odessa National Opera and Ballet Theater, immediately taking a active place in the entire ballet and opera repertoire. Aleksandra has toured with theaters in the USA, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Hungary and many other countries.
In 2009 and 2013 she received awards from the governor of the Odessa region for her significant contribution to the development of national ballet art in the country.

When the company was created, she served as Vladimir Troshenko’s assistant. She takes care of all administration, as well as running all the group’s rehearsals and stage activities during international tours.
In June 2021, Aleksandra graduated from the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Chisinau as a master of choreography.
During the Covid epidemic years, Aleksandra dedicated herself to improving the company’s repertoire and preparing the new star performers of the future. Following the death of Vladimir Trochenko in 2022, she was appointed artistic director of the company.
